How do you feel about your time on the Engage to Change DFN Project SEARCH programme?
My time on Project SEARCH was good and bad both at the same time because I didn’t enjoy my second internship.
What internships have you done since you started Engage to Change DFN Project SEARCH?
I have done 3 internships since I have started on Project SEARCH in two different University coffee shops and I have also worked in Tesco for my third internship.
What has been your favourite internship and why?
My favourite internship is internship 3 because I was working in Tesco and I met new people, I improved my customer service skills and I got to have good banter with the Tesco crew.
Describe some of the tasks you carried out during the year.
Some of the tasks I had to do I found them very easy after they got demonstrated to me.
How has it helped you to be on Engage to Change DFN Project SEARCH and what have you learned during the year?
How Project SEARCH has helped me is by the way they have helped me budget my money and helped me to become more mature.
How have Lily (job coach), Kerri and Bev (college instructors) helped you during the year? What kind of support have you had from them?
Lily, Kerri and Bev have helped me apply for jobs and helped us prepare for interviews they have also helped us boost up our confidence.
What kind of jobs are you applying for and have you been successful yet?
I have been applying for retail customer assistant in local supermarkets unfortunately I have not been successful getting a job as I have no photographic I.D yet.
Now that Engage to Change DFN Project SEARCH is coming to an end, what would you like to do, or what do you plan to do in the future?
I would like to be an actor and to be seen on T.V. as it has been my dream ever since I was 8, I have been achieving this goal by joining a theatre company.
