Engage to Change raised at First Minister’s Questions
Yesterday at First Minister’s Questions Hefin David AM spoke about the Engage to Change project in a question to First Minister Carwyn Jones. Following up on a question about inclusive work-based learning, Mr David cited Engage to Change as a project with an important role to play in supporting young people with a learning disability and/or autism into long-term employment.
He also spoke of the implications for transitions under the arrangements being brought forward by the new Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Bill. Mr David asked whether the First Minister would support a model of this kind if Engage to Change proves to be successful.
The First Minister answered that he’s keen to make sure there is as much as possible available to get people into work, particularly those with learning disabilities or on the autistic spectrum, and that he looks forward to seeing the results of the project.
Thank you Hefin for your support and for raising awareness of Engage to Change in the Assembly.
