Gerraint’s blog June 2020
On 4th June I ran a refresher session with project Ambassadors through Zoom. We went through the Engage to Change Ambassador presentations. The session helped to keep the Ambassadors’ skills practiced and up to date, so they are ready to do presentations as soon as project events start again.
I attended a Zoom Project Evaluation session on 17th June. It went well and we had some useful feedback from young people who have been involved with the project. They talked about some of the issues they’d had, which I hope will be able to shape the project going forward.
Every two weeks I attend ASD Info Wales’ web content stakeholder meetings. We make suggestions about content and accessibility.
On 18th June Tracey Drew, Angela Kenvyn and I had a speech planning meeting. We talked about a plan for my speech for the National Lottery Community Fund. I gave the speech at the Exploring Youth Resilience event through Zoom on 24th June. I talked about the project, what we have learnt so far, and about the barriers young people face when going in to work.
I hosted my first ‘Gerraint’s Fun Hour’ event on Zoom on 30th June. I asked a few questions to help with the project evaluation, and we had some fun with me singing a few songs on karaoke. Everyone was chair dancing.
I had some great feedback and we hope to get some more people involved for the next sessions. I’ve already started to prepare!
